Competitive Jumpers.com introduces a collection of exceptional showjumping horses, most for sale or comming for sale within the next competitive Season.

These horses are professionally managed by Paul Halpern and his organization, Stable54. Paul understands each horse, their character, rideability and potential. He is trainer, coach and often show rider. Paul is committed to understanding the needs of professional and amateur clients, and presenting the horse that meets their competitive goals.

Paul Halpern

Paul grew up in Nova Scotia and began riding at the age of eight. With his riding goals soon exceeding his budget, he worked as a stable hand since the age of twelve. Hard work and the oportunity to train and ride many horses set the framework for Paul's career.

Paul left Halifax to gain experience as a working student for George Morris. This relationship, of course, was both educational and inspirational to Paul's professional development.

Through George, Paul began working as a rider for Nona Garson in New Jersey and the Wellington Forida horse shows. He followed this exceptional experience with a work term in Europe, training in Switzerland and Holland.

When Paul returned to Canada he was focused primarily on the training of young horses. Working with Jill Henselwood in 2000 was particularly memorable when she asked him if he could help make her new "handfull" of an aquisition, Special Ed, into a jumper. Paul rose to the challenge and helped Jill develop one of the premier show jumpers on the world circuit today.

Still striving to expand his knowledge, Paul gained a position with Ian Millar in 2001. Paul began showing and coaching at the Grand Prix level during his time with Ian. He stayed with Millarbrook Farm for four of the most exciting and formative years of his career.

Paul established Stable 54 Inc. in 2006. In 2007 he placed among the top six riders in seven World Cup Qualifyers and Grand Prix competitions aboard Rolls Royce and Euro Star.

Currently Paul manages 23 horses through Stable 54. He also helps 'part time' clients at shows and by giving clinics. Stable 54 horses spend winters in Florida, spring and summers travelling the Quebec, Ontario, New York and Calgary circuits.

Paul actively schools the horses and riders at Stable 54 with a plan in mind for every stride. Stable 54 is focused on developing competitive showjumpers within a program tailored to the riders goals and the horse's development.

Paul is Sr. Trainer, Rider and Coach and employs these skills to help his clients achieve their goals. His students range from introductory level showjumping to Grand Prix. He also maintains a number of young horses that he is developing for future success in the show ring.

Myra Simard

Montrealer Myra Simard began riding at the age of twelve, trained with Deni Lefebvre and showed for many years in the hunters. She purchased a five year old grey gelding named Dutch Treat in 1996, a lovely horse, who loved high jumps and loved Myra. Together they formed a powerful partnership that brought them from the 1.10 meter jumpers to the Grand Prix within a few short years.

In 2001 Myra and Dutch Treat were members of the Canadian Young Riders Team. Since then they have been very competitive in the High Amateur, Talent Squads and National Grand Prix in Canada and the U.S. They have achieved a number of wins and high placings in the Grand Prix.

Myra was helped along the way by many excellent and knowledgeable coaches including Laurie Bucci (1998), Ann Hodgson (1999-2002), Pierre Jolicoeur (2001), Ian Millar (2003-2005) and Paul Halpern currently. 2008 finds her developing young horses, looking to discover Grand Prix potential.

Myra is tireless in her training and dedicated to her horses. She knows the show circuits and is Paul's right hand, instrumental in the day to day operation of Stable 54
